Junior Coaching Program

FC DELCO’s Junior Coaching Program is an apprenticeship for high school-age players within the club to learn how to become a coach through practical on-field experience and mentorship. 
 
Junior Coaches will support our professional staff during training sessions, serve as role models for younger players, and help create a fun and energetic environment while learning how to lead and demonstrate activities.
 
What: Junior Coaches will be paired with a mentor coach in Zone 1 (Under-8 to Under-12) to provide on-field support and guidance. They are expected to attend at least one training session per week.
 

This year’s program will start earlier to allow for a more flexible schedule, giving participants the opportunity to earn additional volunteer hours if needed. With the extended timeline, we will also introduce monthly discussion topics to support continued learning and development. 

Through this program, Junior Coaches are eligible to fulfill high school community service requirements and will receive support in obtaining a U.S. Soccer Grassroots Coaching License.  

This is a great opportunity for players interested in developing leadership skills, building a coaching foundation, and forming meaningful connections with FC DELCO staff and the next generation of players.

 
Start / End Date: January 2026 – May 2026
 
Eligibility: 
  • Currently plays for FC DELCO
  • High School Students (BY 2011-2007)
  • Committed to attending a minimum of one training session per week
